Bedroom Retreats!

Ok, why can't my bedroom look like this?

Or numbers 2, 5, 6, 8...or ANY of them really. Oh yes..I guess it's because I've been apartment-hopping for 4 + years. Hopefully soon I'll stay at one place long enough to really invest some time and effort into creating a great space.

Spa-Like Bathrooms

According to Glo Living on MSN, one of the top home trends of 2011 is creating a spa-like bathroom for indulgence and relaxation.  While I agree, I don't necessarily think this should be a trend, but rather a staple.  The bathtub is where I relax, and I want my bathroom to be luxurious - always!

This master bath is in the home of Vidal Sassoon and his wife, in Bel Air (featured in the April issue of Architectural Digest).  He designed the terrazzo tub himself.  I love that it is circular and deep, and the lucite chair with that furry pillow/blanket brings a clean, cozy feel.

An Attempt at Reupholstery

Sara and I have decided to try our hand at reupholstery and refinishing furniture to resell, and obviously make it look much better than before.  This loveseat is going to be my first project.  The shape is very cute, but the fabric is not - and I got it off Craigslist for $35.  What kind of fabric do you think I should recover it in?

A Pretty Pink House

I want to live here.......

Mexico Bound

I'm not sure if it was inspired by my upcoming trip to Mexico - (leaving for Riviera Maya early Saturday morning!) - but I saw these sugar skull coasters and had to get them.  Yes, they're bright and eccentric but because they're only coasters, not too intimidating.

See you in a week!

Bed Lighting

I love the idea of having a canopy bed - with or without actual canopy curtains - and centering a chandelier in the middle of the frame above the bed.  Another almost-room is created; a haven separate even from the bedroom itself...

Using these would make me feel so indulgent.......time to start saving!
